Work

Below is a small sample of Kelley's range and versatility. If you don't see the kind of writing you're looking for, please inquire.

Recent Work

Eastside Audubon Portfolio

Kelley has been Communications Chair of the Eastside Audubon Society since March 2008. This portfolio highlights his work on the new Eastside Audubon name and logo, and on publicity for the Marymoor Bird Festival.

Puget Sound Conservation

This excerpt is taken from an essay that attempts to summarize some of the key ideas in the book Saving Puget Sound, by John Lombard. Mr. Lombard's research and policy recommendations make this one of the most important books about regional conservation in the last several years.

Boatyard Stormwater Project

This newsletter article for the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance describes an unusual cooperative effort to reduce pollution from storm water runoff. Working together with government, businesses, and an industry trade association, the Soundkeeper Alliance ran a pilot project to test storm water treatment technologies.

Bellevue Reporter Op-Ed

This op-ed piece was written in July 2008, in response to a previous column denying the existence of global climate change.

Photography and Nature Writing

Grand Coulee Journal (May 1998)

This is an excerpt from an essay describing seven days on the Columbia. Kelley was looking for the "defining moment" through the viewfinder of a Mamiya 6x7, but found a lot more than that. You can also read the complete essay if you prefer.
